What is “Frosting”?

Soy wax frosting refers to the crystal-looking formations on the outside of your candle. This applies to pillar candles, and glass tumbler candles. It is completely normal. It doesn't happen to every candle, but to most it does. It's inevitable & out of our control.

Soy wax mixed with oils, naturally forms frosting. The fragrance oil sits in between the wax when poured into the melted wax & begins to solidify (It doesn't actually blend in together & become one substance).

The crystals form due to Polymorphism - a condition where crystals inconsistently form in a substance. This occurs because when in the liquid state, both the wax & fragrance oils behave the same, but behave differently in the solid state. Especially when subjected to temperature fluctuations.

All in all - it is cosmetic, & won't impact how the candle performs at all.
